Looks good. Instructions need improvement

This rating is based on the shades themselves – appearance, etc, - a 4+ and also the installation and setup process – a 2-. I will say that the online support has tried to be helpful but, in some cases, just repeats what’s in the instructions. The phone support requires that you leave a message. I did get a call back in about an hour and that person was helpful.
Here are the issues I ran into and the solutions:
First, a hint about the instructions:
1. When you see something like “press x 6s” it really means hold it for 6 seconds. It does not mean press it 6 times.
2. When you see “Press ^&♥“ it means press those two buttons at the same time for however many seconds it says.
3. A little box that says “jog x 2” means the shade will move twice to confirm that you have entered that mode.
The blinds did not go all the way to the bottom or all the way up.
• Even though the length is supposed to be set at the factory, mine was not correct. Use the “Adjusting Upper & Lower Limits” section of the instructions.
The shade did not come down straight. When fully closed that gap at the bottom left was smaller than the gap at the top left. And the gap at the bottom right was larger than the gap at the top right.
• To be honest, I’m not sure of it was the shade or the window was a little out of square. It doesn’t take much to have this happen on a tall window (mine is 75”). I added a couple of washers on the left mounting bracket between the bracket and the top of the window frame (where it is screwed it. This make it so there was no visible difference.
I cannot find any instructions on mounting the solar charger.
• It is actually pretty intuitive but I wanted to make sure. Contact support and ask for the picture.
The ordering instructions should be clearer on what the impact is when you select which side the controls are on.
If you order the solar panels the included double sided mounting tape does not work well. They fall and hang by the power cable. “Scotch Mount” seems to be doing a much better job.
• The gap to the edge of the window frame is almost 3/8” larger on the side with the control and the other side. This would only apply to inside mounts. I can affect how light comes in from the edge of the shade.
Also on ordering, if you think you measure some that exactly matches a defined size, for example 33 ¼”, I’d suggest thinking about going down by 1/8”. I can be a VERY tight fit. Also, since one side has a larger gap, you’ll hardly notice a smaller shade (in my opinion).
Connecting to Alexa
• In step 1 the button is closest to the window. You will have a hard time pushing that with your finger. I used a pen (retracted) to hold it. The note “Blue LED Flicker” should really be “Blue LED Flashes”. It will flash for the entire time it is in pairing mode.
• I got mine to pair but then the voice commands did not work and the remote stopped working. Called their number “[****]” on their website but just got an automated voice that said “leave a message”. It did not even announce the company.
• After doing a FULL reset, I did manage to get it to work again. I had some issues that I believe we due to multiple Echo DOTs nearby. At that time, it was intermittent. I powered off the extra DOT and that seemed to help. I think it works but occasionally it still doesn’t respond. Luckily, I have a Bond Hub that I use for a whole house fan. That works well using the app and with Alexa for opening and closing (Alexa does not seem to understand stop with the Bond).
I have ordered two more shades. I did order them with the Alexa interface although, with the Bond it wasn’t absolutely necessary.

Super convienent

These were my first set of electric blinds and I am so pleased with them. It didn't take too long to install, I think I actually spent more time trying to find the best place I should put the solar panel. After mounting the brackets, I installed inside the window frame, the blinds slid in and operated with no problem. The remote makes so convenient to raise and lower without having to get up and stuff, from anywhere in the room. I plan to get another set as a gift for my dad because of the Google Assistance support, it will make his life much easier for sure.

Good electric roller blinds
